About Val Thorens

Unlike resorts in Austria, Germany and Italy, the French resort of Val Thorens is something new among ski resorts. There are no usual wooden chalets and rural roads here, Val Thorens is an ultra-modern resort and, perhaps, the only one where a whole complex of skyscrapers has been built for accommodation. Val Thorens is the highest mountain resort in all of Europe, it is located at an altitude of 2300 meters, and this, in turn, provides 100% snow coverage and the longest ski season.

The fastest way to get to Val Thorens is from Geneva or from Lyon airport. The road by car will take about 2,5 - 3 hours

Val Thorens is located in the Belleville Valley (the same one that is part of the Three Valleys region) and has a highly developed infrastructure, ranging from hotel complexes, health centers and entertainment to quality tracks and equipped snow parks. The skiers who have chosen Val Thorens have the opportunity to ride even on the glacier, it is not without reason that annual ice racing competitions are held here, and extreme lovers will be able to try out the longest toboggan run in Europe.

Val Thorens has 150 km of pistes at its disposal, and if you plan to ski throughout the region of the three valleys, then you can safely add another 500 km of pistes to these 150 km. But still, let's talk about Val Thorens itself. The highest point of the resort is 3230 m, and, accordingly, most of the slopes for skiing are located above the mark of 2000 m. In total, 66 slopes for skiing of different difficulty levels are open in Val Thorens (77 km are reserved for easy slopes, 59 for slopes medium difficulty and 14 km for difficult pro-level tracks). The resort has 31 ski lifts working tirelessly, providing a continuous lift to the ski area.
