Zermatt is a charming Swiss ski town in the heart of the Alps. The resort has a very good location, thanks to which the snow cover stays there for a long time. You will find here a high-class ski holiday with the longest slopes, comfortable ski lifts, excellent hotels and restaurants!
Unfortunately, getting to Zermatt is not so easy. Everything is complicated by the lack of an airport and a full-fledged railway station, moreover, the city takes care of the cleanliness of the environment, so cars are also prohibited here. You can get into the city itself only by train, electric car or cart, or order a transfer or taxi in a car that is credited for a trip to Zermatt itself, but there are very few such cars.
If you prefer a more relaxed journey, we suggest you use the transfer service from Geneva airport to Zermatt. It will be more comfortable and, most often, much cheaper, starting at 390 euros for a passenger car.
There are no buses going this way from Geneva airport, but you can get from Geneva train station by train to Fispe, where you will find a mountain train to the resort. This road takes about 4 hours, and the cost of tickets will cost about 100 euros one way and per person.
One good option is to take the train at Geneva airport, go to Visp and change to another train there (cogwheel).
You can also rent a car in Geneva and drive yourself to the city of Täsch, from where trains and electric car taxis run 12 km to Zermatt. The route along the A1 and A9 highways will take about three to four hours, provided there are no traffic jams, and car rental is about 150 euros per day. You can simply leave your car at any city parking lot in Tesh, it is absolutely safe.
