El Prat International Airport in Barcelona is located 215 km from the ski resort of Encamp. You can get there in 3 - 3.5 hours by car (it depends on cars on the road and the weather). This is the fastest direct route on the C-16.
Alternative routes run along the A-2 and C-17 highways. There are no toll roads on the A-2, but the distance at Encamp will increase to 250 km and you will spend much more time.
During trips at the end of the week (especially on Saturdays), traffic jams occur due to the large number of tourists coming on vacation. During the peak season, traffic jams can stretch for a long time.

The most convenient route is from Barcelona's El Prat. This airport is quite large and many direct flights arrive here from all over the world. Girona's second popular airport among tourists.
The town of Encamp is located in the mountains at an altitude of 1260 meters. This small resort attracts with its comfort and relative calm. At the same time, it is conveniently located near popular skiing areas - Pas de la Casa and Soldeu. You can get there by funicular in just 15 minutes. But Encamp itself can offer tourists a good varied holiday.
The ski season in Encamp lasts from early December to early April. It maintains a pleasant mild climate, without significant frosts. Usually during the season, the daytime temperature is kept at +5 - +9 degrees, at night it drops to 0 - -3. Storms and fogs are very rare. There is a bus to the center of Andorra that will take travelers from Encamp in 20 minutes.
The resort has a single ski pass for the entire region. The tracks are located at an altitude of 950-2640 meters, the total length is 195 km, there are 115 in total. There are freeride tracks and fun parks for snowboarders. A daily ski pass for an adult will cost 46-50 euro, for a child 32-35 euro.
There are discounts for teenagers, seniors and groups. You can also purchase a half-day ski pass. The resort has several sports schools with individual and group lessons for children and adults. Like neighboring ski resorts, Encamp has plenty of options for recreation and entertainment: a variety of hotels, restaurants, local cuisine cafes, bars and discos, health and sports centers, as well as entertainment for children. In the vicinity of Encamp, you can organize a rich walk, and visit the automobile museum in the town itself.

I am not so savvy in cars to evaluate the service from this point of view, but I always pay attention to the quality of service. At bycar I liked the attention paid to my wishes. Overall, I was satisfied with the service. At first, the driver's delay smeared the impression. I had to wait 10 minutes. But then it turned out that there was a large-scale accident on the road and because of it a traffic jam. On the way to the hotel, the driver took a different route, which was longer than planned, but we drove non-stop. It was nice that despite the fact that the distance increased due to such a force majeure, the price of the transfer remained the same and we did not have to pay extra for extra kilometers. In this regard, the service did not let us down)) And the way back to the airport went without problems. They took us on time, they also arrived on the flight with a margin.
