Courchevel is the pearl of the French Alps. It is part of the world-famous ski resort "Three Valleys" and is the most popular of them. Courchevel was located in the Tarentaise Valley in 1946 and was the first resort in France. Since then, it has become the most expensive and prestigious ski resort with the best slopes, luxury hotels and shops, amazing food, luxurious service and apres-ski.The resort has 5 independent ski villages at different heights. These are Courchevel 1100, Courchevel 1300, Courchevel 1550, Courchevel 1650 and Courchevel 1850. In total, the ski resort of Courchevel has 109 runs of four colors for any level of difficulty. 27 green, 34 blue, 38 red and 10 black pistes, and the longest piste in Courchevel is almost 4 km.
Not only oligarchs and celebrities rest at this resort. If you wish, you can arrange a vacation here at reasonable prices, but do not forget that the higher you go, the more expensive everything is, from accommodation to infrastructure. The skiing season in Courchevel is from December to the end of April. The easiest way to get there is by ordering a transfer from Geneva airport to Courchevel. Since a huge number of flights arrive in Geneva.
This is one of the first stations that has been standing here since the time when no one knew the glorious name of Courchevel. An interesting fact is that the very idea of creating a unified system of lifts and trails of such a large coverage of territories without harm to nature came up with two prisoners of war engineers in a German camp during the Second World War. At the end of hostilities, the idea fell in love with the public and easily found its sponsors. Since then, Courchevel has not stood still and has constantly grown and developed. The management of the resort to this day has an active policy of improving the conditions for the rest of its customers.
So Courchevel 1100 Station is ideal for a more budget and quiet holiday. This pretty village of Saint-Bon-Tarentaise is not famous for its wild apres-ski, so lovers of peace and nature will like it here. The very first Le Lac Blu hotel was opened here back in 1925, but, unfortunately, there are no ski lifts here. Every 25 minutes there is a bus to the station and a red line to the hotel.
The second open station is Courchevel 1300 or Le Prat. This resort has more of an authentic French village vibe than a ski resort, and this is where you can find affordable accommodation. Le Prat is ideal for lovers of gentle slopes and hiking, as it is located on a flat plateau. The main attraction of this resort is the ski jump for the 1992 Olympic Games. It still functions in winter and even in summer. The village of Le Praz has a modest but self-sufficient infrastructure. Everything you need can be easily found here. Open and closed lifts stretch from this station to different parts of the resort, which means that at any time you can get to the desired height of the slope.
Not far from Courchevel 1300 is the quiet village of La Tania, at an altitude of 1350 meters above sea level. Wooden houses surrounded by forests captivate with their picturesqueness and tranquility. This resort is ideal for families and walks along the slopes of the neighboring valleys. Here, as part of the 1992 Winter Olympics, buildings were built to accommodate Olympians. Now the resort is preparing to host the alpine skiing championship in 2023.
The third station is Courchevel 1550, or the Village, located between the first two quiet villages and the two star resorts above. There are both hotels and private apartments that can be rented at a bargain price. The station itself is small in area, but with a well-developed infrastructure. This resort is perfect for those who can hardly tolerate the rarefied high-mountain air, but have high requirements for the quality of slopes and trails. The resort is also good for families with children. Here, more than half of the slopes are gentle and marked in green and blue. There are also excellent ski schools with high-class instructors, Olympic athletes. And there is no vibrant nightlife here at all.
The village of 1550 is connected by a network of lifts to the rest of the resorts, so you can always choose the slopes for skiing and higher.
Courchevel 1650 Station or Moriond is the next village on the way to the summit. She absorbed the best of the rest of the villages. There are more gentle wide pistes in great variety, convenient cable car interchanges and a vibrant social life outside of skiing. The absence of huge queues makes the rest more relaxed and good service pleasant.
After a recent rebranding, this part of the resort has begun to develop rapidly, the number of shops and restaurants here is constantly growing. In the village of Moriond, you can already have fun not only during the day, but also at night. Bars and restaurants with a night program and music are always happy to welcome guests! Guests can enjoy indoor and outdoor pools at the Aquamotion Center, diving and surfing pools, a waterslide, saunas, a steam bath, a hot tub, and a climbing wall.
Station Courchevel 1850, it must be admitted, is the most luxurious and hyped among the rest. This station is located at the very top and has the largest selection of slopes, hotels, entertainment and services. Station 1850 is constantly evolving and improving. The choice of guests here is always only the best restaurants with Michelin stars, boutiques of luxury brands, chic spas and luxury chalets for immodest money. At this height, it is not quiet either day or night; the main life of the resort boils here in the most famous clubs in France.
In addition, you will find a well-coordinated system of lifts that unites the entire resort, and an excellent layout of slopes with a variety of routes, including red and black ones of increased difficulty. Courchevel 1850 is replete with luxury service and a personal touch. Celebrities of all countries, successful entrepreneurs and representatives of royal families come here to rest.
All this makes Courchevel unforgettable, exclusive and obscenely expensive.
