Geneva Airport is the closest to the Alpine ski resort of Verbier. Despite its popularity, there is no direct connection between the airport and the ski area. The resort does not have its own train station, so if you wanted to get to Verbier by train, you first need to get to the Geneva station, take the train to Martigny, and from there take a taxi or a regular bus to your hotel in Verbier.
It is much more convenient and faster to get to the resort by car. From Geneva and Verbier, the route goes along Lake Geneva, past the cities of Lausanne and Montreux, along the A9 and A1 roads. Travel time 2 - 2.5 hours. The route length 161 km. Be prepared that traffic jams are possible during the high season or on weekends, which means that it will take a little longer to get to Verbier.

Verbier is the largest ski resort in Switzerland with an impeccable reputation. The resort consists of four united villages - Thion, Veyzon, Nenda and Bruzon, and provides access to 410 kilometers of slopes. In general, Verbier is considered a resort for experienced athletes. A large area of the resort is occupied by red runs, there are 106 of them, forming 202 kilometers. Blue slopes - 77 and 102 kilometers. The number of black runs is 22, but in terms of distance they occupy as much as 101 kilometers. However, there are ski schools for beginners in Verbier, the choice is quite large, there is even a school for women only. In all places there are very small groups, there is an option for individual training with a personal instructor, training is conducted in English. Verbier is considered the best place in all of Switzerland for freeriding, and for snowboarders there is a professional snowpark, where there are many jumps, boxes and railings for those wishing to practice their boarding skills.
Ski pass prices depend on the season. In low season, the price will be 60 francs per adult per day of skiing, in high season - 65 francs. A subscription for six days will be 355 francs for an adult athlete and 178 francs for a child.
The apres-ski lifestyle is at a high level in this resort. In addition to skiing and snowboarding, you can enjoy dog sledding or horseback riding lessons. The resort has indoor pools, skating rinks and sports centers. And for the kids who came to Verbier with their parents, there are nurseries, kindergartens and entertainment clubs. Young people will appreciate the variety of discos, clubs and bars. Gourmets will be pleased with a large number of restaurants, there are about twenty establishments that offer haute cuisine. And for those who are more burning with cultural hunger, it is worth planning a trip to the museum, which is located within the walls of the 13th century castle.
