ByCar did a great job of organising our transfers for multiple families to multiple drop-off points from Geneva Airport to Morzine, being really clear on prices and instructions. The drivers were really polite, on time and helpful in perfectly clean, comfortable Mercedes cars. They also sent messages directly on pick-up and drop-off days. Was really reassuring and would 100% recommend this service.

This February we went to Courchevel. We were driven there and back by a bycar driver. Thank him very much! He waited for us, although the plane was delayed by 1 hour. He helped with the suitcases. Next season we want to go with them again, but this time to Zermatt!

ByCAR provides transfers in all kinds of vehicles. People come to La Plagne in different groups and with various requests. Some need passenger cars of Comfort class like Volkswagen Passat, some prefer Business class like Mercedes E class. If a group of tourists consists of 5-6 passengers, we can offer Renault Trafic or more luxurious Mercedes V-class. For 20-40 people there are buses or you can leave in several vans.
Typically, a transfer from Geneva Airport to La Plagne takes about 2.8 - 2.6 hours, depending on which road you take (the motorway or the shores of Lake Annecy). However, any route can experience very serious traffic jams. For example, if you travel on Saturday; on weekdays in the morning from 08:00 to 09:30 or in the evening from 17:00 to 19:00, you can spend 1 hour longer. Traffic also increases significantly during the beginning and end of school holidays, adding an additional 2 hours. The journey can be especially long on the last Saturday of the year and the first Saturday of the year, lasting up to 10 hours.
We always confirm a departure time with our passengers when booking their transfer to ensure they arrive on time for their flight or important meetings. We also contact them again the day before the trip to adjust the departure time, for example, in the event of snowy weather.

You can take a taxi from Geneva Airport to La Plagne. This is a convenient way to get to your hotel. Cars are waiting for you at the airport terminal entrance. The trip lasts about 2.6 hours. Taxi fares to La Plagne start at 700 CHF. You need to show the driver the desired address and he will take you there. If you're picking up from your hotel rather than the airport, it's best to ask reception, and they'll call a taxi for you.
La Plagne is well connected with other Alpine destinations. For example, our clients often request a transfer or taxi from Geneva to Courchevel, which offers the same door-to-door convenience.
Despite the apparent convenience and simplicity of taxi services, they have significant drawbacks:
1) The price is 30-40% higher than a transfer. It's not fixed, but depends on many factors: the number of passengers and suitcases, time of day, traffic, and the day of the week or holiday. This means you only find out how much you'll have to pay at the end of the trip, and this surprise is rarely pleasant.
2) Limited choice of cars.. These are mostly economy class cars (Toyota or similar), which aren't in the best condition and aren't kept clean. Business class cars are difficult to find among taxis. It's worth considering that almost all the cars are small sedans, seating 2-3 passengers. Finding a van that seats 5-8 passengers is also difficult
3) The wait for a taxi can be long, as if many planes are arriving at the airport at the same time, there won't be enough for everyone, and you'll have to wait for someone to return.
4) Communication with the driver is often difficult, as most only speak French. Therefore, if on the way you need to stop at a restaurant, a store, or pick up the keys to your apartment, it will be extremely difficult to explain this. Be sure to prepare in advance how to explain your destination to the driver so they don't take you to the wrong place.
The price of a taxi from Geneva Airport to La Plagne this winter costs from 700 CHF (in a car for 2-3 passengers) and about 1100 CHF (in a van for 4-6 passengers). Prices increase on weekends and at night, if you have a lot of luggage or are stuck in traffic.

*Also for a group of 4 passengers
Price depending on the number of passengers.

We try very hard to ensure that transfers from Geneva to La Plagne always take place in comfortable conditions, on time and meet all your wishes. In order to do this, you need to take into account some important points that we have described in this section.
Upon your arrival at Geneva airport, locating our designated driver is a seamless process. After retrieving your baggage, our driver will be awaiting your arrival at the exit from the arrival zone, holding a sign bearing your name or surname.
The driver will meet you at Geneva airport with a sign, or will wait for you in the hotel lobby if you are traveling to La Plagne from Geneva. However, in high season there are many tourists everywhere and it is difficult to spot a person with a sign in the crowd. Therefore, we send our clients the WhatsApp number of their driver so that they can write to each other or send each other geolocation. Connect to Wi-Fi in advance or activate roaming on your phone to stay in touch and not waste time searching.
Our drivers track your arrival time on the airport app or website. The driver will wait for you if your flight is delayed. However, if your flight is delayed for several hours, we may have to look for another car for you, because the first car may leave for the next transfer. In any case, one of our main tasks is to ensure that you are not left without a transfer upon arrival at the airport.
It is important to remember that the cost of the transfer includes 1 hour of waiting after the plane lands. If the driver picks you up from a hotel or apartment in Geneva, then the free wait lasts 20 minutes. The subsequent wait costs 60-80 euros per hour depending on the class of the car (our operator will inform you of the exact price in advance when booking a car). In the event that you need to spend more time at the airport after your plane lands, please notify our employee about this in advance when booking, then the driver will arrive at the airport later and you will not have to pay for additional waiting.
If you want to stop by a store, have lunch at a restaurant or pick up the keys to your apartment on the way, this is also charged an additional 60-80 euros per hour.
When booking a transfer from Geneva to La Plagne, we ask you to provide as much accurate and detailed information about your luggage as possible: the exact number of suitcases, their dimensions, the presence of non-standard luggage (for example, a baby carriage), the exact amount of hand luggage, etc. This information is extremely important, because there are situations when passengers take more luggage or larger suitcases, as a result of which they do not fit into the booked car. Because of this, you have to call a second car, spend a lot of time on it and pay for it additionally.
Our call center operator will send you a letter with the dimensions of the suitcases, we ask you to study it and provide the exact parameters of your luggage, especially if you have a lot of it.
Suitcases are generally available in sizes S, M, D and XL. The exact dimensions are described below.
Size "S": height 48-53 cm; width 32-35 cm; thickness 20-23 cm
Size "M": height 58-63 cm; width 39-42 cm; thickness 23-26 cm
Size "L": height 65-70 cm; width 47-50 cm; thickness 26-29 cm
Size "XL": height 74-80 cm; width 51-54 cm; thickness 30-32 cm
Covers can be soft (usually not much larger in size than the skis or snowboards themselves) or hard (form a rigid shape, large in size - you can also put boots and a helmet; sometimes they have wheels).
Skis in a soft case can be placed in a passenger car in the hole between the rear seats. But hard cases, especially long ones with wheels can only fit into a van, in which it will take up quite a lot of space.
Therefore, it is important to indicate exactly what covers you have, otherwise there is a risk that they will not fit in the car and you will have to order and pay for an additional car.
Of course, passengers take with them not only suitcases. Luggage can consist of bags of various sizes, backpacks, laptops, strollers, packages, musical instruments, sports equipment. All this accumulates and ultimately takes up a lot of space.
Therefore, inform about all your things so that you can calmly and comfortably travel in a car adequately selected for your group of passengers.
